A New PFO Teen: Renee Cloud

My first experience with PFO was the Check presentation ceremony at the end of the Arts Festival Weekend of 2009. I was invited by several cast members to come see the show, and it happened to be the final performance. At first, I was on the fence, but after they told me what PFO was about, I couldn’t buy my ticket fast enough.

After seeing the show, I was glued to my seat to see who received the product of all the time and effort. The check was presented, and the new charity was announced. That was when I knew that PFO was something I wanted to participate in. So I applied.

I think joining PFO was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The first thing I noticed was how friendly and welcoming everyone was. I’ve been a part of many different youth service groups, but I’ve never been a part of one that was so energetic and committed to creating change. At first, it was a little intimidating, but after a while, the energy became a part of me and I became a part of PFO.

I’ve been having a really good time working with my committee, the Photography Committee. Our advisors, Brandy and Joseph, make everything so fun and efficient. It’s a big task that we have on our hands, but with their guidance and help, I think we can create the best display the Arts Festival has ever seen.

So far, PFO has been everything I expected and more. Working with my buddy, Denni has been so great and I’ve learned so much from her. Being a part of such a happy group of individuals has made me happier and more energetic. I’ve never been so excited to make a change, and I’m so thankful for PFO for allowing me an opportunity to do so.
