PFO came to me by way of a truly altruistic individual, Morgan Grubbs. She told me about a great opportunity to not only act, but to truly make a difference in my community. From that conversation onward, I was launched into a world of great energy, spastic hugging, and ardent, fervid passion for social activism. PFO has introduced me, and reconnected me with individuals that can only be described as “extraordinary”. Kids who are only thirteen and pitching to corporations, kids who absolutely devote every second of their extra-curricular packed lives to the kind of change PFO actuates. Through PFO, I have met the two most darling little boys. Boys who are crazy, loud, and extremely loving. They have been the angels in my life. Every time I go to a buddy event, I absolutely melt in the hands of Cole. His witty remarks, butterfly wings, and innocence remind me of youth, and how we must whole heatedly cherish it as it passes. The joy PFO injects into my life, leaves me speechless. The happiness I feel is ineffable, and the change we are creating as a concerted group effort is inexorable. PFO has been the only place where I have felt that I really belonged. And for that…I thank PFO. For giving me meaning and allowing me, a teen, to affect positive, beautiful change in Charlotte, and for giving me the skills and the confidence to create change where ever I end up in life.
