This is my first year in PFO and I cannot begin to explain how much of a blast I am having! I am so grateful to be a part of this incredible organization. When I first heard about PFO I knew it was something I had to be a part of and so I took a leap and what a journey it has been!
Honestly, it is so much different than I expected. Or maybe I just had no idea WHAT to expect. I thought it was simply going to be a group of artsy people who put on a bunch of plays to raise money. I had no clue how much I was going to learn about being a leader and not being afraid to inspire change.
My favorite part of PFO is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, my buddy. At first I was nervous and did not know what to do, but it just sort of happened to start to come naturally. Once we started to build a relationship I knew that this is what I was supposed to be doing. It just felt right. It has been a privilege to watch him grow and open up just in the short time we have spent together.
I am so thankful for PFO because it has inspired me so much. I am a senior this year and next year I plan on going to college and to start working on becoming a dance therapist. Without PFO I would be completely oblivious to the whole arts therapy world, but it has opened my eyes and has planted a seed in me of which I am truly grateful. So I guess you can say PFO has changed my life.
