Because PFO reaches out to teens who love the arts, we wrap up our year with the opportunity to participate in one of three intensive arts experiences during the end of February, beginning of March; Theatre, Music or Visual Arts. Experiences are led by professionals in the field who offer an avenue for teens to give back to their community through the use of their artistic talents.
Theatre Experience
Rehearsal and production of PFO Annual Musical performed throughout the Arts Festival. Rehearsals are typically Sunday through Friday and last 3-5 hours.
* Theatre Experience is by audition only
Music Experience
Teens receive different workshops with local musicians to learn about songwriting. They then work on one to two pieces as a group, which become the new PFO theme songs. Teens host the songwriting competition finals and perform their pieces as a part of this “Playing for Others Concert”.

Visual Arts Experience
Teens meet with local artists to receive workshops on all different genres within the visual arts world. They then work on one group piece that will be installed in a public venue in Charlotte. Teens host the visual arts competition finals and reveal their community piece to the public.
