
Mary Courtney Blake considers herself a storyteller who utilizes many different media to communicate the true, good and beautiful. Holding a B.A. in Theatre and Studio Art from Winthrop University, Courtney works as a set designer, teacher and artist in Charlotte and its surrounding areas. Her set designs have most recently been seen at Carolina Actor’s Studio Theatre in shows such as Foxfire for which she won a Metrolina Theatre Association Award for Best Set Design in a Drama. She has also had the wonderful privilege of having her visual art displayed in New York City and Austin, TX, as well as locally through the Friday Arts Project, Rock Hill Center for the Arts, Coal Yard Gallery and YC Magazine. Courtney is currently working with the Rock Hill Community Theatre as a teaching artist and is a member of the Friday Arts Project which works to enable artists to inspire, engage and create toward the renewal of hearts and culture.
