Juried Art Show & Songwriting Competitions
Deadline: April 1st


Playing for Others announces its third annual songwriting competition – inspired by this year’s theme “Music Moves” – and second annual Juried Art Show, “I live in music”. The competitions are open to teens between the ages of 13 and 18, in any style of music/any medium, and are an opportunity for teens outside of PFO to get involved with our organization’s efforts. A Note From Jen

I have never been good at yardwork. Plants and I just seem to have a rocky relationship. My mother was born with a green thumb, I was born with a blue one (or whatever the opposite is to a green one). Currently inside my home there are two plants that survive; a row of bamboo on my fireplace mantel and a spider plant lovingly potted for me by my green-thumbed mother and driven all the way down from West Virginia. The making of PFO’s first ever Children’s Book

The four ‘A’s of Playing for Others are the corner stone for leadership through the arts for aspiring teens. Nine teenagers proved successful in demonstrating the four ‘A’s – Accountability, Acceptance, Action, and Attitude – in the achievement of producing this wonderfully creative children’s book.
