Audition Opportunity!

Playing For Others is seeking to cast 12 children in this years Arts Festival show, “Pied Piper – The Musical” to perform alongside of 20 PFO teens. Auditions will be held at Whitehead Manor on March 5th from 10 am – 12 pm. (Read More)



A Parent’s Perspective: Carolyn Allred

My involvement in PFO as a parent has been simply to observe and support. My daughter, Addy Allred, has been involved in PFO since the first meeting at the amphitheater in Freedom Park on a hot spring day. She had been a student of Jen Band’s for several years and was curious about this new endeavor. She enjoys theatre and this was another avenue for her to engage in her art.

A Note From Jen

Back that train up! It’s the middle of February? What?!? Didn’t we just meet our buddies, wasn’t the Retreat yesterday? Arts Festival is in how many months? These are the thoughts that, when not in the middle of balancing 25 plates in the air, haunt me in my car as I drive to yet another meeting at the Starbucks at Cotswold. Advisor Spotlight: Maile Kim

My experience in PFO all started with a monster. I was introduced to PFO during the Theatre Arts Experience last year during the production of THERE’S A MONSTER IN MY CLOSET at Actor’s Theatre. After that I started looking through the materials on the website to see what the qualifications were to become an adult advisor, I knew after those two weeks I wanted to work with PFO in some way. New Teen: Andrew Hall

Once a week I have the opportunity to take the form of one of many identities. I have been Lightning Mcqueen from Disney’s Cars, a cape-wearing superhero, Jackie Chan, and even a vivacious, sunbathing woman. You might be wondering how I can stay sane during this constant switching of personas. My secret? I have a group of like-minded individuals who are as adamant as I am to find the best, most creative costumes for a weekly celebration of hard-work and community. (Read More)
