Wassup, Journey Group?
Is everyone psyched for all the winter holidays? I know I am! I can’t wait to celebrate with my family.
Back to PFO; this Journey Group Blog will be about… Leadership! PFO is a teen-leadership organization, so everyone is responsible for taking action and helping others. I believe that a good leader is understanding, charismatic, creative, and honest. You must be able to hear what your followers are saying and pay attention, so you can improve upon yourself and what you are leading. Nobody wants a monotonous or nervous leader; they want a leader who knows what he or she is doing and can take initiative without hesitation. A leader must be open-minded and creative in order to face the multitudes of challenges he or she might come across. Lastly, a good leader should be truthful to his or her followers; lying to people who have their faith in you is just wrong.
PFO has done a great job of making everyone a leader in some way or another. It has instilled in us a great sense of accountability, which is a vital aspect of being a good leader. I have been accountable in many ways, from doing all my work on time to keeping promises I make to my friends. Reliability is very important to me, and I try to show that with everything I do. If I say that I’ll do something, I don’t stop until I’m done. I put in 100% effort every time, and if it isn’t up to par with what I wanted it to be, I do it again.
There are many teens in PFO who I aspire to be like. Meghan Neal, Allison Whitmeyer, and Daniel Morrice are just a few of the truly amazing leaders in PFO. They know how to be responsible, take initiative, and get the job done. I really want to work on being as caring and understanding as they are this year.
Thanks for taking the time to read this blog, Journey Group! It really means a lot to PFO and me. I hope everyone has a fantastic winter break!
