Hello fellow Journey Group members!

In this blog I’m going to talk to you about leadership and what I’ve learned about leadership in PFO. Accountability, taking initiative, and accountability are three major parts of being a leader.
Accountability is very important in everything in PFO. When everyone is accountable with due dates, replying to emails, etc. everything moves faster and more fluidly. Taking initiative is also very important and is a huge part of being a leader. When you take initiative, like accountability, it speeds everything up and therefore no one has to tell that person to do it, because they already have. Also, responsibility is the last part of being a leader. Responsibility coincide with accountability and taking initiative. When someone takes responsibility, it sets a good example of themselves and therefore it helps with being accountable and taking initiative.
Someones leadership in PFO that I admire is Ben Birdges. Everytime I have to check something off of the spreadsheet, Ben’s name is always checked off, he’s also on time for most events. I really admire people when they set a good example of being on time, checking due dates, etc. It makes me want to be more accountable to myself and I strive for that.
Something I believe I need to work on is listening to other peoples ideas. Sometimes I feel that other peoples ideas are not as good as mine, and that’s not good. Another thing I think I need to work on is being a team player. To me, a leader is someone who everyone respects and admires and listens to others and respects others and not putting themselves on a pedestal.

Thank you guys so much for reading and I’ll talk to you guys next month!
