Dear Journey Group,
I am pleased to inform you that this year’s Music Experience is going great. We’ve got a concept, we’ve got a rough plan. We’ve got lots of help. And we’ve got talent. This year’s won’t be an ordinary same-old-same-old deal where you come, sit, and watch talented young teens play the guitar and sing…. this year we will be performing Step Dance (as in West African stomping-on-the-floor-and-clapping-real-fast dance) We’ll have electronic music and, last but not least, we’ll have a legit storyline that should and shall leave your mind blown. The date is April 28th so please come out! It’s at the Neighborhood Theater at 7 pm.
Through many workshops lead by professional artists, the teens of the Music Experience have learned about West African drum circles, step dancing, and jam sessions. In our last random jam session we came up with this really dark and eerie piece that we will probably be performing in the opening act of our show. We also had a professional step dancer come in and help us choreograph our own step piece. This is exciting because we have never done this before.
Our show will be a new experience for us and for you too! So make sure you get that date it in your calendar! Thank you.
