Helloooo….. JOURNEY GROUP!!!

This past month has been super crazy for PFO getting geared up for Arts Experience, Open House, and other exciting events! Theatre rehearsals have been so much fun! I won’t reveal much, so come see the show! (Opening May 5th!)

This month I’m going to talk about PFO’s community involvement. Playing for Others involves itself in the community in many different ways, and not just through its involvement with partner organizations.

One of the first things we learned at the Retreat last year was that whenever we wear our PFO shirts, we are representing the organization. Every time someone asks what the logo means, or what the organization does we are given the opportunity to spread the word. The way I personally found out about Playing for Others was by seeing some of my friends at Children’s Theater of Charlotte wearing the t-shirts with smiles on their faces.

On the last day of the Retreat all the committees were sent into the community to do a “Scavenger Hunt.” We met all sorts of people and told them about PFO, handing out little information cards.

We have several events every year that are open to the public like Open House, for instance, and Arts Experiences. I mean, who doesn’t want to go see cool shows and learn about such an awesome organization!

Not to mention Journey Groups like you! Every teen in PFO has personally reached out to people, taking them with them on this incredible journey. Of the 70 teens in PFO, each and every member’s Journey Group has at LEAST 15 people. Jen Band told us the number of total Journey Group Members recently and it was so huge that…I forgot it. But I assure you, it was astounding.

I know that PFO has touched the lives of many people this year, and I hope we will be able to do the same in future years.

Don’t forget: Spring Open House is April 21st!

Thanks for reading!
