Hello everyone!
I hope your day is just splendid beyond words! So, a lot has been going on for the past two months in Playing For Others. Arts Experience has started up, meeting for sub-committees have been crazy, but let me tell you, I am learning so much about this organization’s impact on our community!
PFO’s main goal is to give back to the community, including the people that are a part of it (duh, our name is Playing For Others!). We see it as a crucial for us to keep our integrity alive, and to continue this organization the way it was intended to be. We always have our yearly non-profit partner, which is an organization in Charlotte that directly impacts kids with disabilities. This year, our partner is HOPE, which stands for Helping Outcomes for Parents of Exceptional children (http://www.parents4hope.org check it out!). We have our monthly buddy events with kids through these organizations! It is extraordinary to see how much of a difference I can make in a buddy’s life through a simple interaction! The relationships that are formed are incredible, and so full of an invigorating energy that’s almost impossible to explain!
We also have our Arts Experiences! That is our festival every spring that, this year, includes dance, music, and theatre! It’s a wonderful event, and the performances are incredible. We price our tickets at a very low cost, sometimes just pay what you can, because we want everyone to experience the joyous nature of this organization. We are also planning on having a little publicity stunt this year as well, so keep your eye out for that as well!
I hope you all have enjoyed learning a little bit more about my life in this organization today. Thanks so much for reading, and thank you so much to those that have donated! There’s still a lot more that I’m wishing to raise, and it would mean a ridiculous amount to me if you all could donate just a couple of dollars! It’s a great donation, for a great organization, for a great cause.
Love y’all!
