Hey Journey Group!
During this blog I will be talking about my Committee. I am in the Children’s Book Committee. The goal of the Children’s Book Committee is to make a children’s book that contains two main concepts: action and acceptance. My Committee is filled with many creative and amazing people and there is no committee I would rather be in.
We recently had our first committee meeting and it went very well. We had some awesome ideas and I can’t wait to actually start writing the book. So far we have figured out the plot and the characters. Everyone in our committee has contributed and we have made great progress.
When we first started figuring out of how we wanted the book to look, we thought about books from our childhood. Those were the books that we had not just enjoyed, but books that also had a strong message like “The Giving Tree” or Dr. Seuss books. We wanted our book to be interesting for kids, but at the same time it would have a meaning that would affect people of all ages. We wanted our book to be something unique, something that no one had ever thought about or written before. So far everything is going great and the ideas we have had are really encouraging.
Our committee is like a family. We all work really well together. When someone has an idea, everyone else adds to it and this make it even better. Our committee has been growing closer and closer over the past two months. We have learned a lot about each other and learned how each of us can contribute and make a difference. I am so excited to work with this amazing group of people on this book. We are going to have a great time!
Sincerely,
Melissa Valdman
